Request Rules Journal
DO NOT ASK FOR REQUESTS HERE, Ask for em when I open, I make a journal for it.
(UPDATED AS OF 2016): This is a different method I am trying out and I did it for the first time, it created far less salt than the last methods did but it did create to much stuff for me to do, so the rules are gonna be more refined with each iteration to make this as easy and reasonable as possible for everyone. Compromise is best if you wanna make both parties happy to some degree.
(UPDATED AS OF 2017): I'm gong back to the old method, I prefered the control I had over the slots it was much more manageable. I tried it once.
I open for requests every so often. But I don't always do them because I also want to focus on developing and drawing my own cast on the side. Plus I also have a life and I want to make it fun for me.
Request taking has over the years created some unneeded salt, be it by the people who were too late or because of too-few slots.
So what I intend to do in this method is more straight forward and simple and there are THREE phases:
1- I post an announcement journal explaining what time I posted said announcement preluding to the official request journal. The time is typically Central US time. So if you can take that time to figure out what that means for your time. It will help you keep track of things.
2-When I post the offcial request journal I will give a dedicated amount of time (usually in minutes) for people to respond. I will sometimes link journals to people, especially those who may be wrapped up. Keep in mind I'm only human like everyone else, so I can't get the link to every single person. First time I tried this I opened for an hour and have to 50+ requests!
In this journal I will also have additional information:
A: I won't color requests unless I say I plan to. But most of the time, you can expect sketches.
B: You need to post a comment on the journal asking for one in order to get one. I will make some exceptions for some folks for whatever the reason may be, but everyone in general has to post a comment.
C: I will post time-stamps or notifications every so often in the comment section to tell you how much time is left. Once time is up I will close the journal and disable comments.
D: If you do not get into the journal in time, don't be salty, I may not open often but It doesn't I'll never do another request session, sooner or later it can happen again. However if for some reason you did post the last minute but due to interet issues are closed you'll have to show me a screen cap of the time so we can make sure it's valid. x 3 x
3-The final phase is where I will reply to your comment asking you to note me. This may take me time cause I know there's always so many to start with.
ON TO OTHER CASES:
Do not be rude or mean to other people, or ME. While I don't mind being reminded every so often, don't get entitled or have an attitude you're not paying for these at all and I will try my best to do the work I can for you. If you act spoiled or entitled you may not get anything from me ever again. The possibility of dealing with people like that on a regular basis is why I never take commissions and is one of the single biggest reasons I don't ever want to do them.
keep your links on FURAFFINITY, Inkbynny, OR WEASYL. I'm a very anal guy when it comes to going to websites I know malware is common but if you can avoid it why take the risk?
So please if you have refs for characters on Furaffinity, InkBunny, or Weasyl.
If you have a character owned by a company you want me to draw you can do a quick search of FA, IB, Or weasyl I'm sure someone has drawn something of those characters somewhere before. Or if you want something that shows a character in their offcial look, link me a YouTube video and I can screen cap some of the images and do it that way. I won't accept any links otherwise.
