I didn't grasp the full depth of this bad economy because I landed a well paying job right before the market went south and gas prices went up. My checking account has been healthy. Good benefits, a 300$ bonus for christmas, and a 6% raise at the beginning of the year.

However, I hadn't looked (until now) at my investments for the 2008 Year-End.

2008 Total $ loss because of Stock Market: $9,094.95

I am at a loss for words. I hadn't expected it, even though I've heard the news every day. My grandmother's inheritance is back to where it started. Is anyone else out there loosing money? I'm not sure if any of my friends have investments.
