where are the people?

I went out with my friend, going to bars and talking and I have remarked:
where are the people talking in the streets?
where are the lovers, kissing on the public benches
where are the lost people, asking for their way?
where are the people in the parks?
where are the kids playing outside?
where are the people in the bars, joking around a beer?
they are in the street, their nose on their phones, not seeing each other
their are texting to their own friends, without talking or
they have mappy, never lost anymore
the parks are empty, only animals
they are on FB or playing on their tablet
they are still drinking, but now chuckling on the latest meme on the internet
sometimes I have the impression that earth has become a big human desert. and it bring tears to my eyes

Man, I'm glad I am not the only person who sees these things. The smartphone answer is a huge giveaway and it still amazes me to this day how people cannot sit for even 5 minutes without being on their phones and/or tie themselves down to cancerous social medias like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. That, and just to go outside to enjoy the day. Jeez, if it's a beautiful sunny day and time and gas permits, I'm heading out for a little joyride in the vehicle. No direction, no objective, just drive and enjoy the good & bad traffic. I can probably go on all day how society is transformed and lost in technology. I am wholeheartedly with you on this.
