It's all in the eyes

I find I can't really get into working on a piece until I have completed the eyes, does anyone feel the same?
I will have everything sketched out and proportioned but until that flicker of life comes out of rendering the eyes, I really don't have much drive to do the rest.
I guess for me, the eyes set the mood for the entire piece - I will have something general in mind, but the eyes just add an extra layer of clarity to what the final outcome of the piece will be.
Sorry for the random thought, I am working on a few things and just needed a moment to ramble. <3

I agree with a subjects eyes being the 'soul' to a work; it draws the viewer(s) into thinking that your illustration has it's own personality.
