Found a neat new place that just has become exposed from the extended period without rain. (droughts are funny that way, bad on one hand, sinky sloppy on the other) Its in proximity to my favorite marshland, "Blackberry Bog" and its so sticky and deep that I really hadn't expected such a depth from this particular area.
So I was in my swampscouting outfit (scouting/hunting for more muddy places) Winter Dance Tights/skating tights, two pairs of socks, and a one-peice swimsuit. I was wading through the pond that leads up to this treacherous shore. The water was about thigh deep and the mud below that was about at my knees, the closer I waded to the mire, the deeper the mud got and the shallower the water got, so when I was actually into only the mud, it was at my inner thighs in just deep mud. Thing is, as I got closer to shore, it didn't get shallower, it got deeper. I rapidly found myself up to my waist in pasty gooy clay riddled mud, which made it sticky and quite a struggle to wallow forward in the stuff. The more I wallowed about the deeper I got. I wasn't prepared to commit to such a trecherous pit just today, so I got my way back out for further exploration in the future when I am more prepared.
I stick tested this place at about the edge, and found it to be wayyyy deeper than just my waist, it likely could suck me in fully If I worked with it! Its not sloppy enough to make that easy, so I'm unsure on its future, but I will definately come back to explore this patch again in the future!

Ever thought about jumping into the mud? From a firm spot/the shore and right into it, adding some impact weight to get down more quickly?

...yes, definitely for science.... nothing else...
First pair of socks, then the tights over them, no panties, the second pair of socks over tights and first pair of socks, then swimsuit. The layered socks help soften any pebbles, or rough terrain that may be under the surface of the mud, while the tights offer resistance from the mud itself while stil letting me feel myself slopping ever deeper into the mud. The swimsuit then furthers the defence, by only allowing me to feel the muddy moisture, vs me going in nude and feeling it places where mud shouldn't rightly wander. Also, should someone actually encounter me out there (which is doubtful really, but not entirely out of the question) they will have something to see me in vs skinny dipping. which totally isn't my thing. The outfit also helps for cleanup, as the tights wrince out easily, as to socks and swimsuit. It cuts cleanup in half vs just wearing a pair of panties and a bra. Furthermore, if wearing just panties and a bra, I almost guarantee that I'd loose the panties! and socks if wearing them alone. This ensamble ensures that I keep my clothing on, and protecting my body from the muck that I slop about in. I might at the very worst, loose the pair of socks on the outside of the tights, but the ones on under the tights will be kept in check by the tights themselves.

Yeah, I'm spoiled. I *used* to play in swamp mud with nothing but a pair of bathing shorts, but the last time I did that I got a nasty infection. (I'm still not entirely sure it was an infection, I think it was actually a poisoning from hydrogen sulfide.)
Now, the only places I got mudding are quarries, where I know the mud is clean and sterile, for the most part. And no hydrogen sulfide. Also, quarries tend to be pretty private places, but I *have* encountered people there?
