Go for water-based and usually just a dab, like smaller than a pea size, will work. Latex-based can eat away at the toy, so stay away from it.

Yeah, latex hates other latex. The good thing about water based is if it starts to go dry it will just dry verses latex gets sticky. If it does go dry all you have to do is re-moisten it, it's a little gross, but saliva does really well in that case.

A lot of lube is O.K. It goes in easier which can be good and bad. If you're getting it used on you and you're not experienced at it yet, it should go in a little at a time so it doesn't hurt too much. You might feel a little pain starting out. If it feels like something's getting ripped open inside, you're taking too much too fast.
