Achievement Unlocked - Yogurt!
Yes! I have successfully made yogurt :D
This last week has been a series of failures. My husband needs yogurt in his diet, but cannot eat dairy. So we bought a yogurt maker so we could try making some almond yogurt.
Once we got the machine, we realized how tiny it was... we are only able to make about 3/4 - 1 cup of yogurt per go and it takes all dang day to make..... so we really have to make EVERY day. Half the time the yogurt fails (not enough starter, contamination of the bacteria, bacteria death, ummm.... cosmic alignment out of sync?)
But! I found a recipe online for making yogurt in the crock pot. So I thought I would give it a go with some regular Dairy yogurt.... and lo..... I now have successfully made 4 liters of yogurt.
Now that I know it can be done I can try with the almond yogurt :3
Dear God..... 4 liters of yogurt.... I'm going to be eating yogurt for every meal of the day T_T

Also Plain Dairy yogurt here is $8 for 900ml, I just made 4 Liters of yogurt for the same price.
Every Swede has it for breakfast! ^^
This is the recipe I used: http://www.livingwellspendingless.c.....memade-yogurt/
Easy to do, just requires a lot of waiting around.... you have to wait for the milk to warm, wait for the milk to cool, wait for the bacteria to do it's thing, wait for the finished yogurt to chill.
Challenges come from your bacteria dying before it can make yogurt; other bacteria can contaminating your yogurt, or even bumping or disturbing the pot while the bacteria is doing its thing can disrupt or kill it.
