Going to start YCH soon (And why)

BEHOLD!
Whelp. I've been trying to avoid doing any for pay work for a while longer, but I got a medical bill in that was rather larger than I was expecting 2 weeks ago. I'm getting pretty sick of top-ramen and kraft macaroni, so.... I guess it's finally time to do it.
I've oddly, (and i'm not exactly sure what the arguments on both sides are) seen a lot of controversy over YCH style commissions... So I thought I would very quickly go over why i'm planning on possibly doing them soon.
I've wanted to do commissions for a very long time but i've always felt very nervous about accepting other people's money, especially when a commissioner could ask for practically anything under the sun... I need to know before taking someone else's money that I know I can deliver good quality.
A YCH type commission allows me to be absolutely SURE I can do exactly that. I can know what they end image will look for the most part long before I'm even commissioned... And in addition, the commissioner knows exactly what to expect. It's like a safety net for both of us, and a stepping stone for me so that I can get more comfortable with the whole concept.
Or to put it in more cub friendly terms.... Training wheels... Or Crawl before you walk... Or other metaphors.
...Truly.
