Was reminded of an important truth...
That the example I give is not unimportant; if people see my example as being "the pursuit of truth will turn you into a frantic wreck", then it would turn people away from bettering themselves.
I need to stop trying to connect to people who drive me into a frantic wreck.
On a side note, I noticed that I keep trying to discuss intelligent topics with people who, frankly, might not be very intelligent. There's nothing wrong with not being intelligent, but it comes with the unfortunate side-effect that it makes them feel inferior and might explain a reluctance to keep the conversation going (which sucks, because they won't be honest about it and just say so, so we can talk about something we can both relate to).
