Hello, everyone!
Please share a little about why you're learning Esperanto, for how long, what your species is, and any other stuff that may be of interest :) Feel free to write in English or Esperanto.
I'm Erik, a 28-year-old cheetah in Oregon in the US. I play piano, paint, and like to read, garden, and take walks outside. I came across Esperanto in 2003. I've always been interested in secret codes and languages since I was little. I was amazed that someone could just invent a whole new language. It inspired my own conlang as well. I mainly use it to chat with people online. I've never been to an Esperanto convention, but I would like to someday.

Bonvolu skribeti pri kial vi lernas Esperanton, de kiam, kiu estas via specio, kaj iuj ajn aferoj, kiuj povus interesi :) Vi estas liberaj skribi aŭ en la angla aŭ en Esperanto.
Mi estas Eriko, dudek-ok-jara gepardo en Oregono en Usono. Mi ludas pianon, pentras, kaj mi ŝatas legi, ĝardeni, kaj promeni ekstere. Mi ektrovis Esperanton en 2003. Min ĉiam interesis sekretaj kodoj kaj lingvoj ekde juna aĝo. Mi miriĝis, ke iu povis simple elpensi tutan novan lingvon. Ĝi ankaŭ inspiris mian propran planlingvon. Mi ĉefe uzas ĝin por babili kun personoj interrete. Mi neniam ĉeestis Esperantan kongreson, sed tio plaĉus al mi iun tagon.
Nun estas via vico!

I love the concept of the language and would love to be able to use it, but at this time I am not able to give up enough time and effort to learn it. I wish I had been taught it at a young age, as I was taught German in school which I have used practically for only about 2 weeks of my life. Learning a language is so much easier at a younger age, I found that having not spoken any German in years, I was able to recall almost everything when I needed to. I don't know others' thoughts on this and if there is a better way to learn Esperanto, I would love to know about it.

Mi felsono estas hibrido de kapreolo kaj lavurso (angle roecoon, france chevraton. Mi tute ne scias kiel traduki ĝin ^^' Se vi havas etan ideon...) Mi estas kreanta kompletan fikcian universon por li ! Mi ludas blokfluton kaj aliajn blovinstrumentojn. Mezformata fotografio interesegas min :p

La angla estas mia unua lingvo, sed mi lernas Esperanton faras lernanta aliaj eŭropaj lingvoj pli facila. Mi uzas la kurson sur Duolingo, sed mi scias ke mi devas paroli kun aliaj esperantistoj por plibonigi mian vortprovizon. Mi eklernis hieraŭ. Mi esperas ke mi ne ĉesos lerni. ;o;
