King Richards Faire 2014 Discount Tickets and Date!
Hello all New England area Furs.
This includes you, Massfurs, Rhode Island Furs, NH, CT, VT, NY area furs. (further out furs welcome too if you're insane enough to travel the distance to join in)
Get on with it!...
YES! Indeed. I am happy to announce, with some initial help from Mizuhiro Neko and also Cirrus Dragon to announce 2014 King Richards Faire Furmeet date will be happening Saturday, September 6th 2014. This is the immediate Saturday/Weekend following the Monday Holiday.
King Richards Faire is a Ren faire located on Route 58 in Carver Mass, and for those of you who attended last years event (and previous years too perhpas) We intend to put on another good gathering and show too. Faire gates open at 10:30 am and goes to about 6:30pm after last joust tournament ends.
Except this time I hopefully a little more preparation and coordination for the following:
Cheap Tickets Info Details (what you want!) I have already pre purchased through groupon a block of 16 tickets. (the maximum block i could buy on one purchase) I'm havign my mother assist to buy 8 additional, for a total of 24 discount tickets.
The ticket Discount Price will work out to $17 per ticket able to be paid in cash at faire to myself. This is a steep discount of $12 off the full at gate admission price of $29 per ticket.
I'm keeping a list of those interested in discount tickets at this link below:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1sW.....?usp=send_form
all replies and responses are on a first come first serve basis.
NOTE:
While an idea was being considered for a one night mini con at a nearby hotel, a pricing request was returned within the last 24 hours and the room rate quoted for an estimated 10 room block did not return any reasonably cheap rate or price at a hefty 209 plus tax per night.
So therefore the post Faire activity for 2014 will once again be a household BBQ at Danruk's Plymouth Household at 61 Flintlocke Dr. I have updated the form to a simple yes/no response.
Food and drink will be prepared and provided, at no extra cost, and for those who want some directions to perhaps go to a nearby supermarket and buy some of their own extra grillables (dogs burgers etc) I can provide that if necessary.
Any questions? Reply to this thread, or note me directly here, or send me an email to my attention: danruk[at]lycos.com

Post faire thingy, Grillage at the roo's place. Map to your place with the supermarket along the way for us to buy grillables would be nifty too. hand them out at KRF.
I hope you have a great time at the wedding.
I'm not sure what the 2 slots in the request form for discounted tickets is for though. So I'm just going to fill out one, with my username. Haha.
Bring a cooler or some sort of spot where ribs might sit in a car out in a parking lot for a number of hours during the faire time, before we hit the later barbecue.
or: show up slightly earlier around 9am at my Flintlocke Dr. Plymouth address and we can put it in a proper place to keep well until BBQ later after faire.
either way. FUCK YES bring RIBS!
Cheers!
We have been fursuiting in past years at the Faire with welcome and open arms.
The covered mask/face rule has been welcomed with the understanding of if you are approached by any faire security or the "carvershire security" and asked to remove the head temporarily, please do break the magic for them to appease and then remask and move on.
The headless/changing area sadly is rather 'public' to the far back corner where they maintain the public privy spaces. (the bathroom porto potty trailers and stalls) Make your best use of it.
going suited/headless is at your own pace and ability, those who have taken heads off and other items have tended to carry the costuming around with them at faire.
Most areas are open to wander in fursuit wthout worry. However, do try to stay towards the back areas of the Tiger Stage where the big cats on display are part of the show. These actual real furries can get easily spooked or even possibly aggressive to stimuli they don't quite understand. So you're welcome to go see the show, just stand towards the back rows and not too far forward. Also mind the cages/pens area to the left back corner of that same faire area, similar worries, if they see you from that open enclosure, it might mean some small troubles for the handlers. The handlers themselves... LOVE us in costume though.
The official rule of the faire as stated in a comment below is: NO exit/ReEntry Allowed. Sadly, dumb asshole alcoholics in faire's years past have made this rule a bit of a 'must' for the safety and security for the faire overall. I have known scant and quietly polite requests being fullfilled by front gate staff if begged and asked nicely for an out-and-return to the car. It is at the whim on how well you might be able to silvertoungue the ticket/gate/security keepers of the moment.
So make TRIPLE sure you have everything you need from your car before going in.
Also: Do not bring in food. Do not even bring in a bottle of water. Don't even think of sneaking stuff in inside a backpack, as they will search them. The Head of Security for the Faire and the Sheriff of Carvershire are both fine gentlemen, but are quite firm when it comes to the rules.
I'd like to go. But I don't drive. MBTA doesn't go to Carver. And the friends I've been attending the Faire with for the last 5 years are unable to go this year for various reasons. And I have a thing about getting rides from lifeforms I don't know too well.
Oh well. Maybe next year.

Be sure to see the performance on the King's Stage at 1 and 3:30 (You need to see both parts)
Also, you want to try and be at the Gate by 10:15 so you can see the performance the Royals give so you know the theme for this year.
And if you need to purchase tickets, it's CASH ONLY. Same goes for buying the food tickets inside (there are ATMs inside the faire, but they are hidden) Most of the vendors take checks & credit.
Oh, and be sure you know how to yell this one word very loud: TORTURE!
(and to allow those who in spite of their best efforts STILL insist on running on "furry time")
Thanks, have fun!
