Hearing how their family responded makes we wonder how things would go down if i ever came out! I'm pretty involved in my southern baptist church. They have done so much for me I feel like I'm betraying them because of the feelings I have. Not to mention that my extended family would probably ban me from the holidays. What should I do?

Not only do I terrible for the people in the linked journal, feel terrible for you as well due to the fact you have such a worry. You have every right to experience the feelings you have, there is nothing wrong with that. You are not betraying them, they are betraying you by putting you in this position, god made you as you are and your church and family should accept you regardless of any, that is the very definition of unconditional love. Be who you are, be happy and be proud
