Leaving me, my account, and the friends I still talk to online all huddled together around a big box of booze floating in the wreckage of the titanic like fordibben lovers! *sigh* What I mean to say is, due to some unforseen complete bullshit thrust upon me the morning I woke up, Skype doesn't really work for me. I want to see if it actually does, though, and doesnt just fuck me over in case I feel like saving Skype conversations or even getting those back from another account.
Especially since now, I'm Doctor Velcity on Skype instead of Doctor Velocity on my Xbox3-whogives a fuck! First off, I'm turning off auto updates. Secondly, I'm still going to chip away at the problem unless they really mean it by the whole "comes back in 24 hours" thing. So until then the whole Skype situation is kinda fucked, so I'm gonna roll with the Doctor Velocity thing for a while. Already compiled a list of people I still remember somewhere in WordPad, so if you're watching my FA or have my phone number or whatever and remember me, can I get your Skype?

The Win 8 version is horrific and I'm still having issues with it.
So don't be too panicked by it; everyone's having issues with Skype right now (my mum had to uninstall and re-install hers this morning just to get it to load up).
As for contacting me, I'm on FA 99% of the time in the evenings (UK standard, that is) and also if your PS3 is connected tot he 'net, my PSN is Mole-Of-Doom

Your logs should still be safe. They're stored in a user data folder. For Windows 7 it's C:\Users\[your username here]\AppData\Roaming\Skype\[your skype account name here]
For the most part it's just a big jumble or what seems to be disorganized data, but there are skype chat log viewers available online that make sense of it. I've only tried one of them; not sure if it can distinguish between separate accounts though, if you made a new one, course you could always just move the new account folder while you access the old logs. I need to look into more in case nobody figures out how to keep older skype versions running when they're shut off by Microsoft, before they're actually shut off. They fixed it for WLM2009 so...
