Spoiler free Guardians of the Galaxy review

Wow. Replacing "The Avengers" as my favorite Marvel film wasn't gonna be easy but this one had the chops. It's got it all: Action, humor, great characters, funny dialog, great music. All of the characters get a good amount of screen time, but Peter "Star Lord" Quill and Rocket kinda steal the show.
Chris Pratt is good looking and charming, and pulls off Quill really well: He's got a lot of really good lines, and it's not surprising he was in the running to be Kirk in the new Star Trek movies, though his character here is a lot more Han Solo. He's also got awesome taste in music.
Bradley Cooper just...IS Rocket, continuing the trend of "completely perfect casting in a Marvel Comics movie". Seriously, his performance is fantastic. There's a scene where he's talking about how he was created that's got some feels, but the director doesn't let it get sappy or melodramatic.
Michael Rooker is awesome as Yondu the pirate, as is Karen Gillan as Nebula. The movie has a *lot* of characters, but none of them feel really flat aside from the villain, who is kind of your standard issue "evil space tyrant planning genocide", but the rest of the cast is so great I didn't care.
It's stupidly fun, and if you even remotely like the Marvel movies, sci-fi, or just fun action movies, go see it. I'll be seeing it again before it leaves theaters, I'm sure.

"What's a raccoon?"
I'd quote directly but I'm lazy and don't wanna look for it again.
