hospital volunteering in suit
Been thinking of trying to volunteer at one or more of the local hospitals. I've already started looking into who the proper people are to contact to set this up and browsing the hospital websites to see what I can find out, but there's not much out there that I've found. I'm hoping that this'll turn into a good thing, maybe even get some other local furs involved. We'll see.

Thanks :). Hoping this works out

Mmmm, I would go for the children's hospitals if possible. They might be more welcoming

Thanks for the idea. Not sure we have any here that are separate from the regular ones

If not, then those wards might be more welcoming then say ICU's

I've heard before that doing this REALLY requires having a good friend on the inside. They can't just let strangers come and do this, apparently. Someone who works there MUST vouch for you and almost put their reputation on the line that your intentions are pure and that you're not some creepy stalker or such. At least, this is how I've heard of it happening. Because, the world has so many issues and bad eggs in it. Bound to be exceptions. Good luck!

Thanks for the warning. As I said, I'm doing research and any input helps :)

On a personal note: I don't believe I could ever volunteer to do such a thing. After all, while patients in such a place can really have their day made by such a visit, there's always that potential fact that if any personal bonds are made on one trip, you may come back another time to learn that one or more such persons have passed away. And, I'm not sure my soft heart could take it. It can do so much good. But, the price may be steep.

Talked with one of the hospitals and they weren't interested. Oh well, there's a few others I can check with
