If you're not interested in paying for the game, you've got options like Firefall, Guild Wars 2 and...Warframe, I guess. Tryna think of more really good non-sub games. The Secret World is also a good choice.

Eden Eternal is a chibi type mmorpg. You can play Portal! Not mmo's but still interesting with puzzle solving. Everquest is always good.

On the tentatively mmo-ish side (okay, one is more survival / Day-Z but blocky; the other is a robot building/battling online team deathmatch thing), there are a couple my Steam pals has been trying out / getting into Unturned and Robocraft. Big plus: they're free to play (Unturned has a very optional 1 time upgrade, Robocraft is on the darker side though buying premium time isn't required to keep earning credits since you'll pretty much always get back more than you lose to repairs).

I'd suggest Guild Wars 2, but only played 1; really liked it though and spent tons of time with it (and lack of time enough to really focus in is why I haven't bought 2...).

Everquest 2 has a lot of content and theres a way to get game time from in game tho it is a bit of a grind. if you decide to give it a shot i can give you a krono (in game item to get time) and run ya through a few things to try and help ya out XD.

I say try Dead Frontier, May take awhile to get a good idea on what to do but when you figure out the good way to go, you'll have fun taking down zombies. If anything I can give ya tips and help ya out when you need it.

I can testify to Warframe and Planetside 2 being fun, although Warframe is really dynamic and fast-paced, what with all the running on walls and sliding through laser fences, and Planetside 2 is basically an FPS game with ten thousand people playing on the same server; it's still fun if you don't really like shooters, though, since there's always demand for good transport pilots or medics/engineers.
