To all artists who think your work sucks or isn't good enuff
11 years ago
Thanks anyway for always being great sports and choosing to share your work regardless. I never had a lot of patience for people who lean a little heavily on the self-deprecating side, jokingly or not, but I understand that for creative types, it's like a constant instant war between "Ehhhh, no still not really there yet", "AAAAAGH HOW DO I DO THIS", and "Welp, I still think this sorta sucks, but it may as well go up, anyway" before going onto the next thing. It's rough, and feels shitty, I know it does, and is all too necessary cause you're always on that path to do better and strive for greater.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, even if you feel your work isn't good enough, please always, always remember that there's someone out there, usually many people, who appreciate the work you do and the work that goes into it, and you have this poodle's gratitude for having the gumption and good faith to share your "mistakes" alongside your masterpieces. You're braver than you know.

I appreciate your encouragement, hun. And yeah, I do feel that way a lot. I'd be surprised if even 10% of all the stuff I doodle ends up posted anywhere since I'm so rarely satisfied with it. But I keep trying because it seems like some people are happy with it, and that's more important than my negative feelings. ^_^;
