what's the deal with them? why almost every artist doing this? just curious cause most of them are like "pay me to draw pictures for myself" and I think that's just selfish or pay to see art before they post them online? huh? some of these things are just...dumb, I don't know what's happening to this fandom anymore.

I don't know... I was wondering that myself. I can't see myself doing that to my watchers. Honestly, it's the same deal with the guy from Kickstarter who made the potato salad fund. People who believe people will fund them for stupid shit will get people to do so. I rather work hard for my Commissions rather than have people fund me just for kicks.
