HELP SUPPORT A TEACHER AND BUY CHEAP ARTS! PART 2! EMERGENCY
11 years ago
If you didn't know, I've acquired a teaching job, Freshmen English for a Title I School. That means its a recognized 'poor' school where more than 50% of the students receive free or reduced lunches. Kids need to eat!
I've been successful in obtaining a good amount of supplies for my kids! THANK YOU ALL WHO HELPED SO FAR!
Furthermore, I unfortunately have been teaching from afar. Some of you know that I've been unable to teach my kids directly. I'm currently going on Week 3, and it's depressing. With that being said, I'm being blocked by bureaucratic red tape and told that I'm NOT getting paid for the work I've been doing. Since I'm working from home, I've a lot of free time to do commissions. So I need to pay bills and such. I'm available for any and all commissions!
CHARACTER SNAP SHOTS!
30 minutes for an art rage piece!
Simply $15 and fun to do!

GENERAL COMMISSIONS!
Also, general commissions!

Also, thank you for your support thus far! :)
It is worse when the administration says that all students have to pass, and that most should get "A" grades, because it's not "nice" to grade people on what they do. We are to grade them on whether or not they are "good students," not on if they learn what we teach them. :| They keep hiring faculty that have lower and lower standards because we want more graduates without getting more quality students, just by passing the students that would have flunked out four or five years ago. Faculty with standards, ethics or expectations are getting fired or just not renewed when contracts expire.
Oh, that's for college classes I teach, BTW.
Where is this world going? I hope that you aren't hobbled like that when teaching high school. The future's bleak at that point.
Are you in the Chicagoland area then?
This is my first year teaching, so, we'll see how it goes. I eventually want to be a college professor.
I remember having a couple of years where there were strikes and we ended up having fewer than 5 days of for Christmas break. There were a couple of shorter strikes too, only a few days, but the long ones I remember.
I would totally throw cash at you if I could, though- I'm starting a new job on the 6th and have been unemployed for a month. I'm buying ramen with a credit card right now. ;~;
Btw, I know you? D:
And congrats on the new job! :)
Thanks though! It's a pretty good job, I don't have to deal with customers (or people in general) and I can sit on my butt all day~
I don't we know eachother! It's possible, though. x3
I'll get to you later in the week. A little busy atm with all these commissions~! :D
