I'm doing an essay on the Science of Swearing, and I need to do an opinion about it, but I'm kind of curious on what your guys's opinions are

As a young adult it would make me particularly uncomfortable to hear swear words because I had never done it as a child, but the older I grew, and the more exposed and desensitized to it that I became, I find myself having a hard time not using a swear when I am passionate about something.
It's become something so commonplace, even in casual and relaxed speech. Now, personally, I don't have any discomfort about using swears or hearing them, though sometimes I do wish I could go back to a time where I didn't use them at all. The only time that I feel any kind of anxiety is when swears are being spoken loudly around children. I know a lot of parents use them around kids and I know kids are exposed to TV shows and movies with them, but you can't know that about a stranger. You have no idea what their household is like. So, someone going on about "some fucking asshole etc." within earshot of children always gives me this sinking feeling in my stomach.
I think swearing is alright in moderation, when it's funny, or to get the point across. The great thing about swearing is it actually relieves stress.
I don't think swearing should be used to insult or demean others.
