Some people write about their male protagonists having trouble balancing in heels. I often don't have that trope because - well - I don't, I bought a pair of 3-inch pumps and walk almost the same speed I normally do. I'm now breaking in a pair of knee high patent leather 5-inch spike heeled boots. A little slower and I can't go down the stairs, but I'm still going around the house pretty much normally. Some change in how I walk, but it wasn't really much to learn.

Any real experience of balance issues out there? Maybe it's because I grew up doing gymnastics and used to run along the balance beams.
