An Original Character is a character completely of your own design. It can be something you just thought up of utterly and completely (A mechanic who lives the double life as a demon hunter), inspired by something out there in the world (A powerful wizard who can travel to different realms at the mere thought of it, inspired by planeswalkers), or a blatant rip off of copyrighted material (A ninja from the Village of the Hidden Leaves).
For purposes of the Furry OC Tourney, I was going to restrict the character types resembling the latter one. ^ ^; But things like classes from RPGs and stuff like that are still going to be allowed. That's Open Game Content, if I remember correctly. Heck, they even have SRDs for that stuff online.
