Intentions Aren't Everything

Just because you intended good, doesn't mean you didn't cause harm. And if someone is asking you to stop, turning that conversation on them will leave scars they may not forget for years.
Trust me, I still haven't forgiven some of the things people did almost a decade ago. And you won't remember to apologize when it's years later. So do it right then and there.
If you care about the other person, it doesn't matter who's right and who's wrong. Hell, it doesn't even matter whose fault it is. If you care, act like it. If you might have caused it, apologize. You don't have to abandon your position, but remember:
If you care about someone, you should never intend to hurt them.
Besides, it's hard to do after the fact.
