And also, it would help if i ask around FA and see who to look out for.

I just got off work i am in class from 6pm-10pm and then i work 1030pm-7am. So after work ill pick up the check and ill go to my friends and hell send you the money via paypal. I dont want to lose a friend i just started to get to know. As for you xbuimonsama i am going to pay you and when i am skilled enough after my cgd program here at coleman I will draw you for free. I never want to be refered to as a fur that will never pay cause thats not true. To be honest like many furs i bet i am not the only one that fails at paying off all there debts i am just passionate about my fursona and i am honored that any artists would draw him as amzaingly as you have. I am ashamed that it is taking me longer to get you the money but i have it now. So can we still be firends bigshow. that does suck. a commissioner should know in advance if ur work is worth it or not, and should pay in advance. hope it works out.

usualy I pay up in advance so that the artist can be sure I'm not a fraud, since I'm sure the actual artist won't trick me and just take my money with no drawing ^^; as far as I know, this situation never occured, usualy the other way around occurs, the commissioner doesn't pay x_x

yeah. and i should have listened and did the right thing long ago. also, im thinking of making people i dont know on a personal level *like hom* pay full price for pics. *which i only vary on detail and whatnot*. and also im going to inforce the "Payment upfront" thing too

some artists draw a sketch first, rough sketch to see if everything is okey, then they ask for the full price and once payment has been recieved, the artist goes onto making any changes the commissioner wants and drawing lineart and eventually color ^^
I think that method is the best and even if the do manage to con you, you didn't waste too much time drawing a sketch ^^

i payed him for a commission 2 years ago
it was a misstake becouse i thought he Draw!
but he dont draw
he just camed up wiht a sketch somebody else did !
when i find that out i canceld the commission and asked for my money refund !

Until today he not payed me back !
but he like 100 times promiest he will..........

Its a slippery slope for people when it comes to paying an artist, sometimes you pay an artist for work and they take months and months to finish something, on the other paw if your an artist and you do the work first then don't receive payment now your out your time and resources
I think the general rule of thumb should be art should be prepaid for and artists who take a millennium to finish things should specify that they are going to be awhile before payment exchanges hands. And on that note I've met this guy you speak of and i can say hes a royal pain the ass. im not surprised his mommy took his PC away and now he cant get a hold of ya.


Sucks but yeah move on to better things , shit happens :3
