Paw City Casting CallWelcome to yet another 'first of hopefully many' series. I've always wanted to write, and now that I'm stuck on the bus for two and a half hours a day, my biggest excuse is gone. However, I’ve always been a fan of the ‘improv’ style of entertainment, and I want to try something with that here. I have stories (though not fully detailed) and a setting I want to work with, a city known simply as Paw City – information on which can be found here (insert link after uploading) – but I want to get characters from somewhere else. Namely, you guys.
Below is a list of potential charterers that I'd like you to send me applications for. Think of the applications like immigration papers, or government files, things you can have fun with while writing them up. Keep in mind, this setting is modern, so keep the characters and their abilities in tune with the modern day. No superheroes, no big powerful wizards, no deities. There are some mystical elements to Paw City, but they’re not as huge a thing as they are in comics or in a lot of sci-fi or fantasy works, so keep that in mind when you’re developing your characters.
Now, please, understand that these should be original characters, not existing ones of your own, for I will not be able to read your mind and write the character consistent with how they exist in your mind. I love involving other peoples’ characters, but I do not feel confident enough in my writing to be able to utilize them in the way that you might have in mind. I will work off what you put down for the application as well as I can, but that is all I can do.

After reviewing the applications, I will post those I like most with a teaser of what story they’ll be involved in, and whatever character/story gets the most votes gets written. Now, my main 'gimmick' is that these will be shared characters, involved with various people and events in multiple stories. As time goes on, I intend to include other peoples characters as supporting or background characters, and will be including some friends characters in the stories to start with, where they fit in, and established artists characters if they approve.

how long will those stories be? (like how many pages or words)
how frequently do you want to post them and will there be any possibility of interaction between the world and the readers? (like polls or a cameo or anything else? )
also how do you want people to send applications? PM or comment?
any species you -don't- want to have in your world? (dragons, digimon, pokemon, deamons etc. )
anything else you don't want to have? (herms, cuntboys, macro, micro, hyper, mutants, etc.)
these are all things people wanna know if you're starting a project like this :)
but thus far, i think it's a fun idea.
you'll need to work a little more on that map though :P
I will be posting them up no less than once a week, and no less than twice a week, usually on the weekends.
There will be plenty of possibilities for interaction between the world and readers, though I don't want to promises anything concrete, just in case I can't keep those specific promises.
PM's or Comments are both fine and lovely!
I can handle most, but would rather keep it from getting too hard to justify. Digimon's, pokemons, or others might be a little hard, but Dragons, Dinosaurs, Gryphons, even orcs or (anthro) MLP's are easier to justify.
Macro's, Micro's, Hyper's, and etc. will have a chance, later on, as we might meet mad scientists or the like, but for now i'd like to keep it rather down to earth (relatively, of course). As for herms and cuntboys, they too will eventually show up, but I'd rather make these first set of stories revolve around the characters, their personalities, and their interactions with this city, rather than being defined by some physical part of their body that is almost wholly unique. As with above, I believe I stated in the original journal that I wanted to keep stuff 'modern'. Guess I should have specified more
Yeah, I know. I'm no artist, so you get crappy MS paint :P But seriously, sorry. I hope, as time goes on, to be able to get at least a little more detailed with where each story takes place. I just wanted to give a map that showed the relative position and size of each 'neighborhood'.

Description: A palomino stallion. Golden-brown coat with a ivory mane and tail. Mane has black streaks dyed into it. Usually wears ragged, faded jeans (not saggy, just ragged) and a black tank top. Has a white tribal sleeve tattoo on his right arm that shows through his fur, and a three-claw scar across his left eye. Only object of real value is a gold amulet, a ankh incorporating a horseshoe, on a steel chain.
Note: this is only loosely based off of a character of mine, and I want to customize it for this story. If you need any more details just ask.
