I Will Always Love You
Today, my partner for 16 years, my little orange tabby cat named Tiger, he passed away.
We'd taken him to the vet a number of times over the past few weeks. We knew something was happening. We gave it our all, and Tiger fought hard to hang on, but in the end, we couldn't help him. At the vet this morning, we all said our goodbyes.
16 years ago, I saw a bouncy, fun little orange tabby, picked him out of a litter, and named him Tiger. He was there for me always: following me around, playing with me, sleeping with me, always cuddling and purring all the while. He had such a thing for toy mice too. He'd carry them around in his mouth, have little gathering areas for them at the top and bottom of the stairs. He loved nothing more than toy mice for Christmas. He was just so cute.
He passed with his paw wrapped around my finger, holding me as he drew his last breath. He was surrounded by his family, who've all loved and taken care of him throughout his life. He passed under his own terms. We brought his favorite blanket and toy mouse to be cremated with him.
Thank you, Tiger, for all the joy and happiness you brought to my life.
I miss you, and I will always love you.

You and your family have my condolences
Thank you very much.
Thank you very much.
You will miss Tiger and it is right that you should do so, but know also that you were a good companion and provided love and companionship for him as well. You both were fortunate to have found each other.
But yes, you are very right. I cannot thank him enough for all the joy he brought our family. Our time together was short, but I'll remember it for the rest of my life.
We'll always miss them.
We have to savor the short time they are here with us, be there with them to the end, and always love them, even when they are gone. I'm sure he's still there with you in your heart every step of the way. My prayers go out to you and him.
We got him back from the crematory folks yesterday, and they gave us a wonderful presentation. A beautiful wooden picture box with his ashes in it, a little imprint of his paw, and a lock of his fur. In a way, we feel like he's back home with us again now, and it's made us all happy. But we'll still miss him always...until we meet again.
Thank you very much for your thoughts and prayers.
Just yesterday, we got his ashes back from the crematory in a wonderful presentation. It's nice, having him back home in a way, but we all still miss him.
Thank you.
A few days have past, and while we still miss him, we're now smiling at pictures of him instead of crying.
I'm sure we'll welcome another kitty in the future too, but we still have his old partner to take care of. ^^
Brings back memories of our sweet cat, Smokey...
Thank you
All the best, amigo.
His eyes never left me that whole time. His paw kept my finger tugged close. I sure that's what he was telling me in his final moments.
Thank you very much.
...I believe she was going to Heaven, she knew it...and wanted me to be with her during that time. I dunno how religious or not you are...but I do believe that's where your Tiger is, now.
Thank you very much
But yeah. We're missing him a lot right now. Thank you, Rory.
your writeup brought a tear to my eyes
This is a coincidence, but I may be in your place soon, as my own cat is terminally ill. ><
Thank you
I hope all is well with you an your family. I am here for you guys because you and your family have always been there for me.
I've not much else to say that I haven't said already, but thanks for always being there for us.
After the weekend, we're all feeling a little better over here. Smiling at pictures instead of crying. It's been difficult, as I'm sure you know.
Thank you very much.
