One question I have is this: Will the continuing increase in Pateron funding for each demo released result in increased productivity from you and, thus, more frequent updates of the level we've seen or have you already been working at full capacity as it is?

And this isn't meant to be some derogatory question. I mean it more in the sense of, will the greater financial freedom that the Patreon money is giving you allow you to devote more of your time to the game?


Oh, and another question related to the above. Is the sticking point of more frequent updates relying on your ability to code and write the scenes or more on waiting for the CG artists to get art pieces done for you to use? Since if you're waiting on others, there's not much any of us can do to help with that.

So, the short answer is yes. The more attention Blackgate gets, the more I am realizing this could be a serious endeavor. The more I realize this the more I work. My ability to code and write is not at full capacity, yet. I'll write a bit, watch league of legends worlds and then write some more. The more financial freedom I have, the more leverage over my artist I have. The more leverage, the quicker I can DEMAND art hahaha. Also, if I reach my second milestone, I will be able to get another artist on board and really start to pump stuff out. The frequency of updates will not change but the quality and quantity of each update will increase. So still expect another major update in about 2 weeks. So to summarize.
- more attention means better quality of updates
- update frequency remains the same
- you're the best

Secondly saying that you will have the update scheduled set in stone releases me of one of my big fears. In that a pay by content model can easily be abused by someone how lets say was updating maybe twice a month if that to posting six time in one week. but it can also be a pain in the but with the monthly subscriptions in that even though I paid they did not post anything that month or the next month or the next.

It is nice that if something come up and you can not get the update out in time we do not have to pay just stick to your word and I do not think you will have any problems.

Oh and Mr/Miss Silver I'm trying very hard to showcase Blackgate off on as may places that I know/find to get the word out that it exists :3

Yes, so the next demo release will be around October 8th to the 10th because of this weekend. I am not trying to abuse the system in place I want to show that I am putting in the effort continuously. I like responding and answering questions. It allows me to see where there might be a breakdown in communication or if there is an issue that needs addressing. I decided to update the patreon page to include this plan of every two weeks to remove further confusion and it was because i see that some are questioning what is going on. I am new to patron, so it is on going until the project is released correct, or a one time payment? Will there be females in Blackgate as well or is it just a susagefest?

Patreons can be set up in different ways. The most common type is per month payments, generally for upkeep of artists and the like, though people working on games and releasing demos, like Bane is, more often use the payment per demo Patreon method, like Bane is.

Basically, the payment you sign up for will be made every time he releases a demo update, which is planned to be every two weeks, like he mentioned above. So make sure you take that into account and don't put in a Patreon amount that's going to bankrupt you when you have to pay it every two weeks.

So with patreon it will be every two weeks I will release a new update. You can set a limit so that you only get charged once in a month, which is fine. It will reoccur again the following month, so say you pledge $3 and you limit it to only $3 a month. Even though I released two demos you pay 3 but if you set your limit to 100 you would pay $6 since I released two and you will only give $3 per demo. The next month I release two demos again and same thing happens. You can stop supporting at any time and there is no pressure. (I mean I appreciate the support tremendously but I don't want to be like, GIVE ME YOUR MONEY RAWR!). So for the female aspect of the game. It is still up in the air about that. One thing I do intend to do is add character creation so that you can play as a female. For female creatures, highly likely.

I ment female creatures, go to the scene with the kajai and was like O_O um ok it all good, but might be more pleasing to a wider if you had female charters to romance, not everyone likes the susage, awesome job, and ty for the info on patron.

Well there is also the demoness Aradina in the police station she even has speaking lines. So I'm more than confidant that we will see more females as the game progresses.

As far as female romance go I'm ok with it i like the taco and the sausage so I'll have no quarrels but one of the thing that makes Blackgate stand out is that it has a lot of male love interests.

there is literal a sight ( http://vndb.org/ ) that is basically the Internets database for visual novels and the number of ones for susage lover is pathetically low compared to all the Taco munching you can do.

And I know that homosexual males (and female that are into it) are a minority but the number of female on female submission is just so embarrassingly high in comparison.

There will be more females, but, not the focus. I am think I will be more success keeping a narrower approach. Doesn't mean I won't deviate hahaha
