A question about Paypal..

I got an E-mail from Paypal today, which tells me that they had to freeze my account, because Ebay got hacked, and I have to verify my account on Paypal, and have to click a button in the E-mail.
Now my problem is, I have experienced several times that people claimed to be Paypal and wanted me to verify my account on their site, which only means that they want to have my Paypal log-in. I don't fall for that and I find it amusing, but now the sending address is the real Paypal, but I don't know if I can trust it or not.
Did any of you Ebay users get an E-mail like that, and did you have to verify your Paypal account?
I'd hate to make a mistake..

If in doubt, log into your PayPal YOURSELF, using the PayPal website.
Most of the E-mail was just part of the automatic answer, but this is what seems like they wrote themselves:
(Don't worry: these links will not direct you to another website. We have just improved our automatic response system for you.)
^This is exactly what I got for an answer, and I actually had to send another E-mail as response, because it still doesn't confirm anything.
Also, another thing to note is, that I set my Paypal to English and all my mails from Paypal are normally in English, but this one was in German. And it's not just that, it's also that the text of the E-mail was actually not text, but an image sent as mail. And they didn't address me by my name either.
I doubted it from the very beginning, but I just wanted to make sure, I'm not making a mistake by ignoring it.
