AHH MY EYEZ
Started as a response to
zaerus 's policy of hiding most of his work behind misleadingly suggestive titles and thumbnails so that people bother looking at it. Even though I agree that clean work has a place on FA, and I do go looking at it sometimes, I still have to admit his trick worked perfectly on me.
Frankly, my account here is specifically for posting only, or at least mostly, weird erotica, for several reasons. First, I'm not skilled enough yet to attract attention otherwise. Second, if and when I do produce serious artwork, I don't want it tainted by association with my pornz. I realize this only exacerbates the problem: every time an artist keeps a clean work off FA, the rating of FA as a whole goes that much further to the XXX.
There's also the third reason: I happen to like the stuff. *shrug*
I see some people here keep single accounts of mixed adult and clean art, some keep completely separate accounts, and some keep two or more accounts but don't mind who knows it. And they often change their mode, wiping galleries full of detailed adult work, or declaring their bravery and adding it in.
slash0x recently wiped his gallery of its extensive dragon erotica sketches that I had been studying; he's now posted a couple more that are red-framed.
clapantgrifon, another artist whose style I study and admire, split her clean stuff to a separate account from her erotica. And
slug continues to buck the tide and post everything in a mixed gallery, which IMHO befits her unique style.
chimerasynx goes one better and posts work that is downright terrifying as well as beautiful and technically brilliant, and takes the outrage as another form of praise.
I'm unashamedly using FA as a sandbox mode to hone my skills and courage. Pornz is undeniably good motivation and an easy way to get watchers and feedback. However, I'm still aware of the Other Half who are just as much a part of the community, whose works I comment on, knowing they may visit my page in turn and be disappointed to find just another wanna-be porn artist here. And I wonder which of us are brave, and which are wise.

Hahah, what? Wow I must say it's a bit impressive for me to see someone rolling with an idea I started. Glad too, hope it works for you. And as for the assumption of people going "Wanna-be porn atrist" it begs to mention they are looking for porn artists to say that from the start. Me? I would go "good <insert> artist" And praise you for where your talents and strength lay, and not what media you were using to hone them =)

OP
Well, when I go comment and fave clean artwork here, if the other artist comes to my page to return the favor, they better have their filters up or a high tolerance for bent reproductive antics. To that end, I'm going to make better thumbnails once I beat Photoshop into submission...
