[Gaming!] Alien Isolation Hisssss!!!

With the bad taste of colonial marines still in my mouth. And being a huge Alien fan, I picked up Isolation over the weekend and have been going to town on it. These are my first thoughts on the game itself!
From the get go of it, they nailed the atmosphere right on the money, with the locations and the over all look of the game. It does feel like your playing in the first movie, since this one is based 30 years after the events of Alien. Taking the roll of Ripleys daughter, who was never really mentioned at all in the series as a whole. Only briefly in the Aliens special ed movie, this one unlike colonial marines. Is more of a sneak around metal gear solid type of play. IMO fits it more in the sci fi horror of the first movie. The station you go through has that feel of Claustrophobia, tight halls and vents of the ship itself.
Having to deal with the people on board and getting around them and the androids. The game builds a lot on suspense, having very limited ammo and weapons. Ripley being able to build little hand crafted gagdets to work around things.
Then there's the Alien itself, yup just one! holding true to the first movie its just one Xenonorph that you have to deal with. And if it catches you, its game over. Creeping through the halls and rooms, with your face glued to the motion tracker. It will slowly hunt you down, hiding in different things like lockers builds more suspense as it peeks through the grate in at you. Making a prompt command to hold some buttons and lean back to hold your breath, if you release to breath to early. It'll hear you and nom you right up. The AI of the Alien is good as well, the sound effects of its growling and hissing is legit. The "thump thump thump" of its heavy foot steps are creepy. And for a large part of the game so far, its always coming after you.
There's been more then enough times, been trying to put a code in. Or creeping down the hall, to the sudden feeling of its tail getting fucked through my chest, did make me jump in my chair in few accounts on how well they build up the tension in this game, keeps you looking all around. Jackal recomends Alien Isolation if your a fan of the Aliens franchise!

Well, I'm DLing that right now. For some strange reason, no one around is selling copies of it in stores. I had to just end up getting it on steam for myself

After how bad Colonial Marines turned out I was VERY wary of this game. I might give it a shot though since so many people have been talking it up!

I highly approve of this game, the feel of the first movie is so strong with it. Tension builds up so much around every corner. More people should get into it, even if they're not a fan of the series
