Yeah, so, as some of you know I've been in quite the emotional rut lately. Figures that I would go to a concert to raise my spirits a bit, wind up pile drived by a 400 pound wall of flesh, take a knee to the face, and have my glasses broken. I can't read text. I can't type properly. I can't work... Hell, even this journal had to be painstakingly written using dictator. I'm kind of at a loss of words for how terrible this situation is...
*Update*
Add to this that I have a hanging credit card debt and it looks like I'm being fucked over for half a thousand dollars in pay, and you get what's called a circle of death. Fuck life.

That must suck big time

Oof, that happened at a concert? Was it an accident or was it on purpose, and was whoever this wall of flesh taken care of after doing so?

OP
It's called a war pit. Lots of beefy guys pushing and shoving eachother.they can be fun, but spread quickly and get out of hand. I got sucked into one by accident

Ah, never been to a concert myself, and I can easily see how that could get out of hand. If you feel like chatting just let me know, I hope you'll be able to take care of your credit card situation and then get new glasses or your old ones repaired so you can see properly!

This was a metal concert, so I should probably have left breakables at home... nevertheless I didn't expect this to happen. As for repairing the glasses... almost certainly not. They're in bits, and one of the lenses is shattered. The other is scratched beyond repair. My left eye is totally inflamed, and I'm totally blind in it. Right is usable, but just barely and I have no depth perception. A new pair of glasses would cost me a boatload of money. Like, 6-800$ at least, which is what I make writing in four months... not including bills, which 90% of my income goes to. I can't work roofing without glasses, and I can't write if I can't see... so I'm basically fucked! Bye bye birdie. Gone with the wind.

Ouch, yeah, taking out a writer's eyes is one of the worst situations that can happen. I really hope there's something you'll be able to do to help fix the whole situation, it all just sounds like a big batch of sour luck.

Mosh pit and sorry to hear that your glasses got fucked.

Different from a mosh pit. This was some serious violence going on.

Scratch that. Did some research and in the metal community moshing is occasionally refereed to as crowed war.

Good Lord of all hellish things! How're you losing the pay from the roofing?

I can't work :c My left eye is swollen shut, my right eye isn't good either. I can't use tools, can barely see where I'm going... I'm out of that game for a month until my sight clears, and another few months until I can replace my glasses at least.

Candymane

We'll talk about that.

Oh man, that sucks. :( It won't help with the healing, but if you know your prescription you can get super cheap glasses from Zenni Optical.

Things have... well, not exactly improved, but I'm not quite so desperate as I was last night >.>

Well that's good to hear. The experience sounded painful just reading about it

Oh yeah, total shit. Left eye swollen shut, right eye blurry, no glasses, constant headaches and neck pain, -work- all week >.> No fun at all. I might still have an older pair of glasses I could use once I get back in town, so i may not need to replace them if I can use my old ones instead.

This is why I generally try to avoid crowds, socialite or not. It would be a good idea for you to do the same. My advice is to try and keep to the edge of the crowd to avoid getting crushed, preferably the side if not the front or back. This way you can get out in the event of an emergency.

Pfff, it would have been lots of fun if I hadn't broken my glasses >.> That was the real pissoff that night. My eyes will heal in a week or so, but the hundreds of dollars for a new pair of spectacles is really going to set me back.

Glasses can be bought online at places like Zenni Optical. Don't get ripped off by a brick and mortar store. All you need is a prescription and your pupilarry distance.
