As it so happens, I will be back in New York City for a couple week; I just wish it was on better circumstances. My niece, Jeida and my nephew Andrew were badly beaten in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn. While Andrew is in stable condition, my niece could not sustain her injuries and died yesterday. Just the images of her face and the sight of her smile now make me heartbroken over her loss. I hope my brother is able to stay strong through this ordeal, but one of his greatest strengths is family: and I intend to be there for him. I will be leaving Indiana Tuesday after settling some affairs so that I can bus it to New York and be there for my family. I'll probably stay at my Grandmother's place for a while and stay among family during my time.
