Ack, I have no idea what to do in a true text-based game, I'm used to stuff like COC where you just select options

A lot of the options are like hyperlinks with actual drop down menus, actually. It's more advanced than something like Zork. There are times when you should type things like 'talk to x' or 'give x to x' or 'ask x about x' but it's pretty straightforward.
