Have you ever felt like life is pointless even when things are looking up?
I have currently found a great job where everyone is nice and it pays well, my home should be getting sorted out by the council soon and I feel like im finally back on my feet and my depressions virtually gone but then its like whats the point if I have no one to share my happiness with?
I havnt been able to settle and open my heart to anyone since the really bad break up and crap with my ex and im struggling to find someone that I feel a connection to and can see myself having a future with, one with kids and a nice home and marriage, Its really starting to make me upset as all I seem to find are guys wanting a quick shag and nothing more or ones that get extremely jealous , clingy or have paranoia issues over the smallest thing.
Any words of advice guys?

hmmm, honestly i would say focus on becoming happy with your self as you are. become completely comfortable just being by your self. get some friends and hang out with them. that may take a bit, but once you are happy with your self finding some one you want to be with the rest of your life with. But, most important of all, get a friend (i would suggest online) that you can talk to about everything, and one that is completely candid with you. . . will tell you you are doing something stupid, to help you, and not hold back just to protect your feelings. having some one like that will be very helpful, and can keep you from being hurt from foolish mistakes that you could have avoided.

o I have friends like that and they are pretty brutal with me when it comes to guys since they know what ive been though and are being protective, I have someone that I want and im sure thats part of the problem ( my stupid ex ) its not helping me move on but I havnt really found anyone I feel attracted to apart from ones that are either already taken or arnt interested in me at all. I just want to move on and start settling down im scared im gonna end up never having my own kids

well it is good to hear that you have a good support system. always important. I understand what you mean by all the good one's either being taken or not intrested. just make sure you never settle, and keep fighting on wards till you find perfection. no reason to settle for less.

While I have similar emotions about the subject, I have learned that you shouldn't let the fact you haven't found the right match deter you from the things you enjoy. In college I had some rocky relationships but I still had fun with my groups of friends and my different sports teams. If you put yourself out there to meet people within your circle of interests chances are that you will find someone. It may not lead to a casual/serious relationship but at the very least you can find others that share common interests/goals with you.
