Diabetes can be cured?
Since I was a teenager, I had a mild form of type 2 diabetes called prediabetes. But my most recent health checkup reports that, due to improvements in the way I eat, all diabetic condition is apparently completely gone? I didn't know it was possible to cure any kind of type 2 - my mother always told me that it remains with you for the rest of your life. I never expected to start getting healthier as I approached middle age.

* I stopped buying the normal ice cream, and started buying the low-fat ice cream.
* I stopped buying three Ritter Sport bars a week, and cut down to two a week, and none of them are the butter biscuit variety. I already long since dropped the habit of eating cheap candy aisle crap, largely because it tastes terrible.
* I stopped buying cookies at Subway.
* I stopped eating chicken alfredo at Pasta Hut.
* I stopped buying Freschetta pizza altogether, and started getting one Amy's margherita pizza a week and making two home-made margherita pizzas other times in the same week. When I make my homemade pizzas, I do not add any olive oil.
* I started eating a lot more salad. I put chicken and mayonnaise in it, though.
* I seldom eat beef or red meat anymore. Maybe six or seven times a year, max, and then it's a real treat.
* I already haven't been in the habit of drinking sodas for well over a decade, but I finally stopped drinking Izze as well, which is a carbonated fruit juice I was fond of.
* For snacks, I'm eating more unsalted peanuts, baby carrots and Greek yogurt.
I still have lots of foods I like. I've just learnt to eat smarter and healthier. I'm probably still getting a bit too much cholesterol, but my sugar, fat and salt are all reduced.
I control everything i eat now and it SUCKS, but it helps... but SUCKS! But a proper diet can cure many things :).
but not Epilepsy :(
now type 1 is still a problem :o
However black people are less likely to get osteoporosis (weakened bones) than white people (who are less likely to get Type 2 diabetes, unless if they're obese), so maybe its just a balance of strengths and weaknesses.
