So I think I want to start a comic
Technically it's already been started, in that I've already written the whole thing. Writing's the easy part, it's the drawing that gets me every time.
Also technically it's 2-3 comics. One story follows one character, the second follows another in the same setting (though not the same story, it just takes place at the same time and the characters all know each other, there will be some crossover of what's going on but they'll both be stand-alone). The third is pretty much a PWP involving some of the characters. I might not do that one. Either way the first two will also involve hot hot lovin's, but that's not the focus.
The reason I wrote them is because I have an asston of characters that I've written over the past decade or so and don't use anymore. I feel bad for neglecting them, so what I've done is ripped them from their original plot lines, and put them all in one setting - a University. They are now students and faculty. Most of them will be background cameos, with only a few being the main focus.
The first thing I want to do, however, before I start drawing, is to create (in most cases, re-create) ref sheets for the main characters. So if I manage to complete that task, I will move on to the comic itself. This is mostly because I'm awful at being consistent with character designs, and this way I'll have concrete refs to go back to.
Basically I'm just writing this journal so that if I do go forward with my ideas, you'll know what's going on with the sudden influx of "new" character sheets. And that you won't be surprised if/when the comic gets a bit dirty. XD I'm also going to tell you right now that none of these are straight pairings. There are straight characters, but they're not the focus. And I am not going to apologize for any of the nonsense that I write. It will probably be cliche and weird. You were warned. XD
My primary goal with this is to complete an art project within a story. I've never been able to do this, mostly because all my previous projects that I'm ripping these guys from were like, multiple-novel-length story lines that got too daunting and out of control. These however have a very clear beginning, middle, and end. So the comic will include characters from Felissa's Story, Naresome, and various RPG things. I will be changing a few things, mostly terrible names, a few personalities, but the designs will essentially be the same.
Also because this is already written, if I start the comic but then end up wanting to tear out my eyes and fling myself off the nearest cliff rather than finish, I can still post the rest of the story so people will at least know how it ended. XD (One of my pet peeves is people who start comics and then fall off the face of the planet leaving the rest of us hanging)
The secondary goal is to do one of these stories on my block of 11x17" Blueline Pro Comic Book Art Board. I have 36 virgin sheets of this stuff, it was probably expensive, which means I've always been terrified to use it. I'm going to be sketching everything out on regular paper first, since I have no idea how many pages this will end up being, and pick the one that'll fit on the 36 sheets. Hopefully I won't have to find more. :/ (I have no problem using both sides ¬_¬ )
I'm also leaving the option open to possibly sell them on CDs when I'm done. So what I will be doing is putting the comics here in my gallery in B&W, and then offering the full-colour on the CD. Probably for cheap, depending on the interest (more interest, less $$). But that's nothing to really worry about until they're actually finished. This is by no means a primary goal, since I'm doing this pretty much entirely for me.
Ok I'm done now. If you actually made it through all that, I salute you. X3

sounds cool, and I'd love to see your old characters. Perhaps your style has changed thus the appearance has changed for the characters? I'm eager to see
