Well the truth is if it's not working out then you'll both save a lot of pain right now vs letting it drag on even longer. To be candid I wish my ex had broken up with me much sooner than he did. Woulda hurt like hell but the longer the relationship lasts the more devastating the break up tends to feel, especially for the one getting dumped. So if it's really not in the cards for you two.. just stick to it and leave. It'll help you both in the long run far more than dragging it on another 3 years.

I'm really sorry to hear about this- having experience with these break-ups..it fucking sucks, but you both now can move onward and see where your lives are going.
