Good news

I finally got a job. Five months of searching and I have to rely on the holiday rush to get a retail job. Eh, whatever, I have plenty of experience in that area. I'll also be attending school in January in order to get an awesome job getting paid a lot to sit on my ass... so I can do art on the side still on both accounts.
UNFORTUNATELY... my monitor went on the fritz yesterday. Still works obviously, but the colors are muted and it tends to flicker. I changed out the cords to see if that was the issue and nope. So I'll be in the market for a new one. Will probably get a small HDTV this time around so I can see everything in 1080P MOTHUHFUCKUH. That being said, the colors on this monitor are currently pretty desaturated, so I won't be able to color anything until its replaced.
On the bright side, I haven't gotten a lot of demand for color pieces anyway. :T

Careful if you get an HDTV. Most of them do post-processing on the image, which puts a pretty significant (~1/4 second) delay between input and output. Makes 'em useless for art and for playing games. Some of them you can turn that off, but others will only turn it off in game mode or not at all.

Ah, thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to be on the lookout. I'd like to have an HDTV since my video card has an HD output is all. So if I can manage it, I'd like for that to be a thing. Playing DCUO in HD is a goal of mine.

Unfortunately, that sort of thing is rarely if ever specified by the manufacturer; you'll have to look for reviews that mention it. Or look for an HD monitor, those exist!

That'd be the smart route to take. At the moment, I'm just going to have to go with whatever's more affordable. Thanks again for the head's up.
