The same could be said for DA and Weasyl; despite being quite new, weasyl's still relatively quiet.

The only place that seems to be getting more busy to me is Tumblr :/

Yeah, true. Weasly indeed is pretty quiet still. I get the feeling that submissions only get attention minutes after you uploaded them. Later on, they never get looked at again. At least thats the impression I get.

I'm also on tumblr but im actually having a "hard" time there aswell. But then again I'm a lazy slob on every platform and very rarly update, so that might explain why. *shrug*

Yeah, it seems so. The only stupid thing about tumblr is that it's so hard to follow specific people. I missed so much already because it just all gets dumped in the dashboard and i don't always scroll down so far ~,~; So i keep checking the pages manually. This suuuucks DX meh.

When stuff goes viral, it seriously does but the rest is left out.I for my part use it just for blogging original content, but I'm quite alone in doing so.

I'm only blogging my own original content too, there are a few others who do that.
Most people use the tags to sort out their blogs (they just use art-tags for their own stuff). That's the best way to do it, but it don't want to bother setting it up right etc.

I think there's a lot of potential in your sketches: show off some samples from your daily sketch and you should be set. A little buzz ought to help though.

FA still seems to have the largest user-base, but I did offload a lot of watchings to the other 2 big ones (Weasyl and SoFurry). Weasyl seems to be more "serious" artists (less porn, more portfolio) and sofurry is great for writers.

But I'd still advertise here for commissions if you're planning to open them.

As for FA slowly falling apart, it isn't that.. It is just that the community has spread out a lot ever since tumblr and alternatives came along. From a commission standpoint, I do fully agree with the peeps above - any other place is just gonna make you poor because no one commissions from there. :T If I get commissions, then 90% of them come from FA users.

What I do like is that people here usually comment. Interaction is important D:
I do have a gallery on Sofurry, but it is like, very silent. Weasyl I don't really bother with anymore at the moment >.> Haven't touched it in over a year, there is just almost no one there and the pictures get .... 50-100 views (LOL?) compared to thousands of views on FA, so yeah... Not really worth my time.

Tumblr I like - if you spend some time and hack away at the theme-file of your choice, you can customize your gallery to a degree that is impossible to achieve on other websites, BUUUUUUUT and this is something I hate, no one tags their shit on tumblr properly, so you can't find other nice pics very easily. Many artists also fuck up their gallery with tons of reblogs that they spam into it, drowning their artwork between random posts. There are no user groups, and most importantly NO ONE EVER COMMENTS ON ANYTHING, DAMN IT! Feels like everyone is too busy fapping to horrible anuses and real life porn pics to take some time to look at one's art D8<
Still it can be useful if you need a place to dump sketches or things you deem not very suitable for a site like FA :] Less rules, more control!

As to why I suddenly decided to reactivate my FA-account; I dont have specific reason really. Just a day of boredom mixed with motivation and the idea of offering commishs on here. Gotta get the buzz going again first though.
Also I'm back on dA and weasly again too after having abondend them for quite some time. So basically is pretty much coincidential.

You're definitly right in Weasly being a quiet place with not much going on right now, but I actually like the interface and it somehow feels more personal to me. So im gonna stick to it for now, see how it develops.

As with tumblr, you have good points aswell. Actually I use it for following artists who only blog their original content (so no crappy reblogs). But at the same time tumblr is my main porn source which of course makes it a horrible mess. So its basically porn porn porn with the occasional art piece thrown inbetween. I'd love to seperate the two without having to resort to a secondary tumblr-account.

Actually.. I have 4 tumblr accounts xD One I never really use since it only holds my commission information pages (tumblr is great for that because you can customize it and save the cost of hosting your own webpage~), but the other three are pretty easy to manage. I have 3 browsers installed on my system - Firefox, Chrome and Opera, and I have a different tumblr log-in active in each :P So whenever I feel like it, I switch to my porn-only-following account, or stay with my art-only main tumblr :]
