please no demonic morenatsu, i hated that in this game we're like forced into a lot of things and the main character have a set personality (carefree, naive... etc) and lack a lot of evil actions , and the more "hot" things
Also, who doesn't want to breed all of the monsters in blackgate and be the Alpha monster? That silly Hiroyuki doesn't even know how to top properly...

I am just saying that you can call Blackgate whatever you want to call it. If it makes it easier from someone who has never heard of it to reference something they know then that is a good thing? Also, I am sorry if I don't quite understand what you mean by you 'hated that in this game'. Is it that the main character is not completely blank? My view is, there is no such thing as an evil action, just as there is no good action. Just the right action or the action your choose. Also, don't know what you mean by breeding all of the monsters to make a super monster. I mean i get the concept but what does hiroyuki have to do with it and with topping? (who is hiroyuki again, is he the main character of morentsu? I can't remember) Regardless, Blackgate is not morenatsu and morenatsu is not blackgate. This is because morenatsu is way better than blackgate, but I will try to do my own thing and not think about an other project to base mine off of. I would rather listen to you and other comments to help the project grow.

Yeah, their aren't many but I know of a few actually. I don't think morenatsu is overrated, it just does what it does well. I hope I will be able to do what I want well. One can hope haha.

I played a little of your game, and so far looks promising. Of course, it needs a lot of polishing and work overall.
Considering the way the game is set, i have an advice: not step too far into fantasy and mystery or the player could be completely lost.

Thank you, i still think it is rough shape but the potential is there so I will work towards that. The messed up choices are more along the lines of, what you feel is right. I like ethics and morals, I am not an expert regarding them but I like to ask questions. We'll see what I mean eventually haha.

Start of massively long post:

Don't give up man. It is hard to think of the right direction for a story to go, I know believe me. As a Writer myself, I often hit into writers block and also areas where I think that "No, I do not like this direction". So I reread it, try and understand what if I had chosen it in another direction instead. This does get me confused and I have several drafts of some stories which I don't share because of how I want the story to flow.

Think of it this way, is the main story line in jeopardy? If it is, assess the main story, not the sub-stories (ie the characters that interact with the main character). The way I see the characters in Black Gate, they are all part of the story, yes, but at the same time I see each and everyone of them as a potential protector/Lover/companion and someone you can rely on. Stick with working on one character to the end then move on to the next. As much as it sounds boring and you want to give multiple choices at the start, sometimes taking a step back and working with one character to smooth it out works best.

As for characters, each one of them has their own way of dealing with things. I love their personalities, Alin's constant flirting, Gruff's roughness, Kody's distrust of someone new shows he has something in his past), Helle's way of dealing with Alin. Jack, who is carefree. Vekk who is just the right amount of creepy but also the right amount of enticement. It is all good work.

Don't feel sorry for writing a lot. I enjoy reading everything everyone has to say. It means I get a better picture of someone's thoughts and that helps me develop new ideas or fix problems or whatever. I am no where near giving up. It is just, I see the story spliting... and that was the goal from the beginning. That the story will change depending on your choice. You might break it and, even though I don't want that, I want the choice there. To give agency, but writing the story in such a way where it all makes sense and that events match up just requires a lot of planning. And I am a planner. I understand what you mean by writers block. That only happens to me during the in-between sections. The filler parts, since they are necessary for pacing. I just always want to get to the good parts but there needs to be balance. The main story line is always in jeopardy since it is not a linear progression. It is just making sure it doesn't just implode. I have done the one character to the end. I have finished Gruff's complete story all the way. However, now that I am writing other sections, I need to go back and rewrite a lot of it. So, I am trying to do small sections right now to see how that works because then the changes are easier to make. It is all a progress and I will try different approaches during this whole project to see what works. Yeah experimenting. I am glad you like their personalities and I am happy you think it is well done. It makes me know that I might be on the right path with some of them. Also, it allows me to know which characters you 'expect' to act a certain way. Because... expectation is not the reality of what will be happening. Which is a huge part of writing horror or drama. You have your audience expecting a certain thing to happen but something else occurs. But, as with everything, that needs a balance as well, where the expected outcome should happen. Yeah writing! The story splitting is part of what happens with us writers. It tends to head somewhere where we like or dislike, and that gives us power over our readers. (What would you call people who participate in a visual novel?) But at the same time "this" reader might not like the direction we, as writers, are heading into; that is the price we pay.

I will try to give comments where I can in the future! Though I rarely get on here.

It takes a good amount of planning and determination, i think. It is a good thing I am a planner. The positive reviews scare me more than the negative ones. I don't know why, that is just how I am. It is difficult to take a compliment. I think that with a visual novel that allows for multiple paths that if there is a direction that is not liked, the 'player' (maybe that is the right word rather than reader? I don't know...) has the agency to change it. So when I say things are taking a turn... that is probably a good thing and adds variety to what the player can choose, or not choose...or whatever. So the price is actually really small when compared to a linear story. I like your comments, they are helpful in analyzing the project. I wish you could comment more but it is fine if you can't. What you have said so far has been appreciated.

I love a game where all of your actions make a difference and sounds like there are going to be some big decisions.

There will be some big decisions. Some will be obvious as to what to do, some won't.

Gray is interesting so many time it a game like this thing are to black and white there is a bad guy go stop him. And there is nothing wrong with black and white it give you a clear objective to a story.

But in a game like this with years of unsolved problems piling up on top if one another in a sea of unknowns all the black and white muddles into the mire of gray.

It so hard to solve a gray problem because you never know everything or can see all the consequences its why so many problems are so hard to solve in real life its all just gray.......

yeah, life is pretty gray. Everyone believes they are doing the right thing. But i guess that is just life.
