It Just Keeps Getting Better.... Or Not

Aaaaaand my shit job keeps getting shittier. Thanks to the conflict of a) UPS not allowing phones in the building or on the premise and b) needing to keep the phone on or near me encase of emergencies or if family needs me and whatnot. My car got broken into and phone stolen. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
Time to start looking for another job. It's no doubt that the phone was stolen by one of the 100's of co-workers during my shift. The parking lot is far too big (and shitty) for it to be policed by the meager security force they have. That and their security is more about making sure nobody steals packages than anything else.
So no more texting or calling for me for awhile. Not sure when I'll get another phone. Maybe after X-mas?
Even worse is that my step dad is very adamant about me having this job. He keeps saying bullshit like "When I hire people, UPS would stand out!" and I'm all like "Dude, I'm going into software and design... I'm pretty sure 'truck loading' isn't as good as 'concept design'". So yeah... things keep on sucking regardless of how much I try to make them suck less.

That and I guess I've lost all my contacts... fuck
As a supervisor, I'm always having to get on my crew for texting or playing on the phone during clock time. I don't have as bad as a problem when we aren't busy, but when they do it infront of the customers, they look at it as just screwing around when they should be getting a job done.*
And you're right about security--during training, the security lead scares about not taking anything from packages, or risk being federally prosecuted. But, I had a brand-new pair of work gloves stolen from me a few days after I bought them. I bring this to the security office--he takes a report, but I can tell he's not serious about it. After several days of insisting some action be done, the shift manager gives me money out of his pocket.
Which was about the only nice thing he did. I remember him telling me to stay longer; I told him I had a midterm exam. He didn't care. Fortunately, the supervisor was more understanding so I didn't stay long.
I was so glad when I got my software engineering job. I had over 5 years at that warehouse. Over 5 years I'll never have back.
So I feel for you, Fuzzy. *pet-pets*
