I got Omega Ruby a couple days ago, and I gotta say that this game has blown me away in the short amount of time that I have played it. Majority of my friends choose the get smash brothers over Pokemon, so nobody wants me to even say a single thing to them afraid that ill spoil it for them.

Anyways Ill keep it as spoil free for the one or two of you who happen to stumble across this journal, as I can.
You are riding in the back of the truck again, although its just a truck ride this is the most nostalgic and amazing truck ride that you'll ever experience. Ever. Some of the characters have much better facial expressions that really enhance the game instead of you looking at a static face as they talk.
The Pokedex that is given to you is modeled after the older Gameboy advances and when you open it, it makes a sound very similar to the same jingle that is played when you turn on an actual gameboy. Pretty awesome touch Nintendo. The pokedex is also connected to the pokenav which can be used to find Pokemon that have unusual moves a higher chance the more often you encounter them in the wild. Near littleroot town I encountered a Poochyena that knew Thunder fang and he became a very useful member on my team because of that. The XD share in the game works the same way as XY meaning if you have it on all the Pokemon in your party will get a share of xp from battles. This is both good bad because you don't have to worry about one of your Pokemon becoming weaker than the others, but this is bad because almost none of the trainers or gym leaders have been any challenge simply because all of your Pokemon have become too strong.
Most of the trainers say the same thing as the originals, but its okay because that adds to the nostalgia. Pokemon battles are still a little sluggish even more so in 3D, (although Im still using the same 3ds that I got on release, not sure but perhaps that have gotten better by now).
The Music is basically a collection of remixes from the originals each one sound awesome btw. I mean the music is really really awesome I cannot stress how amazing dazzling each new song has been so far. Nintendo has really taken the time out to decorate the areas like building and the interior of the buildings. you should really take the time out to admire all the work they have put into making everything look awesome instead of just running past it. Player search system, Amie OPowers and super training are here. I've been playing for quite some time and I've just made it to mauville city which is like 6 city you encounter in the game with only 2 gym badges, although I take my time when I play games its been exciting and fun the entire way without me getting bored all that much. 9 hours of play (just don't forget to save please ;(...)

To make a long story short, although this is technically a remake this game is just too awesome to call it just that. The music is great and everything looks spectacular.
