I got it on the day it came out, and I've only been able to casually play it so far. Emerald was my favourite game as a kid, and I'm really liking ORAS so far. I started with with AS part. I have been having a terrible time trying to come up with a team I like. I brought over some pokemon eggs with XY, and I feel like it's kind of cheating.

Currently, I am rocking:

Waldrache - Sceptile - M - lvl 47
Catsnake - Linoone - M - lvl 45
Lucario - M - lvl 51
Panzaeron - Skarmory - M - lvl 44
Flashlight - Lanturn - F - lvl 45
Smores - Camerupt - F - lvl 53

I love the Larturn and Camerupt on my team. I know that Smores has a 4x weakeness to water, and I am playing the water based game, but I can't help but wanna snuggle her. She's all fluffy and dopey looking. Widdle cowmel. <3
I was really surprised with how awesome Skarmory is too. Underclocked is using one, and I don't like the idea of trying to use the same pokemon as him, but we both are using the Skarmory and Linoone, but Catsnake is just a HM slave, but he's an adorable HM slave.

I just finished the Mt. Pyre part, and I feel like I'm suuuuuper over leveled for where I am.
