Same idea with women unwittingly showing her cleavage or her butt happens to be in view in an otherwise "normal" drawing or photo. People can and will find something sexy out of what they can get.

Even if a character is drawn barefoot, there will be some people who will enjoy the drawing because that character is barefoot, not necessarily just because the drawing looks well-made in an artistic sense. It may not be "porn" in a traditional sense, but when it comes to most fetishes, it doesn't have to be depicted in a pornographic way for something, anything, to be considered erotic.

I think that "Fetish" is when something is drawn in an excessive way and/or in a situation that starts to be veeeery excessive :)

For example... I like to draw girls showing their feet sometimes because I find it a sexy thing (it always was a sort of clichè), but I never felt the need to focus only on them, not caring at all about the character... and even less the need to draw several horrible thing that aren't anymore sexy but just pure perversion... at the same time, I like to draw scenes in which two characters are making love, but I never felt the need to draw a character being raped by a bunch of giant penis-shaped tentacles xD
So if I'd really really have to consider myself a foot fetisher (despite I don't consider me like that)... I'd consider myself a "tame" one xD In the same way I'd consider myself more an "ecchi" artist more than an hentai one (since I generally like to exploit the "see-not see" for my drawings because it's waaaay better ;D

It can be interpreted as that; just shown excessively and being the main focus... but as I said, having it in view when it wasn't the main focus can still be interpreted as fanservice of sorts.

I do the same thing basically having my characters showing their feet out of the shoes they normally wear, preferably just their feet as they're still clothed so there's no distractions and to keep it fairly tame... unless it's a commission, in which I have little choice >_>
Honestly, I don't feel a need to draw the characters nude when I just want to showcase my appreciation for my favorite part of the body which I feel doesn't get as much attention compared to the traditional breasts and butts.

I remember we had a brief debate on DA regarding you being a foot fetishist and your thing with shoe-dangling. Even if you may not believe you are one, many may consider otherwise considering how much of your art involves a tease showing them or barely showing them, lol.
But yeah, what you do is pretty tame, and I actually like that, there's no real need to go overboard showing off much else for the sake of making it sexy/erotic for as many people as possible.

Yes, it always depends on what/how things are drawn :) I make you another example... some month ago, between the newest submissions, I noticed two pics whose the theme was a footjob. The first one was a girl doing that on a random penis, focusing on feet... and the character's expression (despite the character itself was barely visible) was expressing something like lust... a second picture was a footjob too...but it was involving both the characters, entirely... the focus was on both the characters and especially on their expressions, as to show his and her reaction to what was happening. I found the first drawing disturbing... while I found the second one pleasing to see, because it was somehow complete and "with a reason" :)

Anyway...the fact is that sometimes people think that an artist can always draw less tame things than how they do ;D So if they find an artist drawing a character not wearing a bra, with the nipples marks on the t-shirt, they always imagine he/she can also draw huge-boobed characters swinging their boobs here and there xD
So, at the same way, when somebody sees me drawing a dangle or an heelpopping, they imagine I could also draw things that are actually real (and not tame) fetish :)
And all of this, often involves commissions and trades too :)
About you, well...your art is tame :) That's why your art never bothered me (plus, other than everything, your style is pleasant, it reminds the good ol' 80s-90s kemono style, and it's the thing of your art I like most ;D)

yeah, there are reasons why the first image is drawn... either to save time not drawing a second character, or for the commissioner saving money not having a full second character to pay for as the penis is treated more like a "prop". Personally I also agree feeling that's not too satisfying since you don't see the other character, so she could be doing that to a mannequin for all we know.

Actuallly it's not strictly necessary that the second character is shown... the thing can be repaired by showing just his genitalia and, in part, a little peek of his face just to show his reaction too :)

I've heard of those, I've seen screenshots, but I don't think they ever aired in the US... been meaning to watch those online for a while. I mainly watched things like the Sonic cartoons, Heathcliff, Swat Kats, Samurai Pizza Cats, TMNT, everything Disney had on TV, TMNT and all TMNT-like ripoffs, etc...

ohhh samurai pizza cats... It has been aired in Italy too! :) And Swat Kats too! ^^
I never liked a lot TMNT to be honest, but... I grew up with the old 30s disney cartoons too! ;D

the creator of Swat Kats showed interest in reviving the show in the future, so fingers crossed that will happen one day... and really old, vintage 1930's cartoons are always fun to watch and even replicating the style X3

I don't have any fetishes, but I do tend to avoid foot-fetiah artists. I've never known one that didn't turn out to be weird in an additional sense.

Nah :) As I told sorcererlance, for what I like to draw I can't consider myself a foot-fetish artist or an hentai artist... to be that kind of artist I should drawn things I'd consider perverted at all, while my average is just "showing explicitely or implicitely a girl's feet (without focusing on them, because it's not the most important thing)" or at max drawing some love-making scene (that it's way more evocative than a tentacle rape >>) somehow my Cookie drawing had something implicit too :) Cookie's shoes are broken and since she wasn't wearing socks, part of her feet were visible, but... that's not fetish as you can see xD (otherwise drawing characters in sandals and flip-flops would be even more fetish xD)

oh i have plenty of different fetishes, i could list them all but that doesn't mean im going to always draw them. although i would like to see some stuff from you some day. any-who what im trying to say is i don't really care i enjoy your art either way and ppl dont need porn all the time to fap to it.,.

There are lot of people who are super obsessed with their fetish in DA and FA and might start to try stamp you in it if you draw anything even slightly to that direction
Just try to side the thing if they bring it up or just straight out say its not the main focus if they persist

It happened that several dA users sent me notes asking me to draw hard fetish (not surely tame things, to be precise) about my character Ginny... the reason was "because she wears no socks in her sneakers and her loose sneakers show her feet" >>
So yeah, I'm used to ignoring this kind of hyper-obsessed people xD

I guess it would depend on what you would classify a "fetish". Many people have different opinions about what they think of as a fetish, some are weird, and some bizarre. I feel as though the term "foot fetish" has a bunch of mixed reviews because can be mixed in with both porn and other fetish material. Just because your art contains a character barefoot, doesn't mean that it should be associated with a foot fetish. I am a guy and I do have a foot fetish, and there are certain things that I like about having one, but there are also things involved with feet that I do not feel very comfortable with. Just because I have a foot fetish, doesn't mean that I also can't admire the other beautiful features of a women. I wasn't sure if you did have a foot fetish when you started drawing characters barefoot, but I figure you didn't because you never made feet your main focus of your artworks. If you stared drawing more barefoot characters, then I certainly won't mind it at all. :p. Barefoot or not, I love your artwork and I love how you make your drawings seem like they come to life!
