Just looking for some input.

Some time ago, I commissioned a piece from an artist here. However after submitting payment, I have never received any progress updates or even word on a queue or ETA. Any attempt to contact them is ignored.

Any advice on what I should do?

report them to an admin. that shouldn't be tolerated.

I'm not sure what reporting to the admins would achieve? As far as I know there's nothing being done against the terms of this site.

If push comes to shove then send then a warnong to respond. If they dont respond then take it up with paypal. When the funds are taken from the artist they will surely say something / contact you

Artists are like private contractors. They should not be paid for work that is never completed. So in this case where they dissapeared off the face of the earth, it seems more appropriate to send them notice that you are going to take the funds back and then go through PayPal and have the funds put back into your account.

Darn. Did you pay via an invoice on paypal ? (You can request a transaction problem and stuff if they haven't provided what they said they would I believe)

I think there's a limit to how long you can dispute a transaction? This was some time ago now.

I believe the limit might be 6 months, checking wouldn't hurt I guess.

I was going to suggest Artists Beware too. I know it's not something you want to do, I don't like being the vindictive person either, but they took your money and didn't deliver. That shouldn't be tolerated.

I would say to dispute it with your credit card company/bank. A payment is a payment even through paypal, you're still using a credit/debit or checking account. all these things can be disputed! Note me if you want to talk privately Saba buddy
