Rejection sucks like a punch in the guts

Attempting to explain a new idea and concept can often be very hard, and many artists are busy enough that they just can't afford the time to keep going back to an image to tweak it. Rather than feel bad about it, just use the experience to tweak your description and attempt to approach another artist when you feel you have a more clear design. I would also suggest offering the artist some cash for his/her time spent thus far - that way they come away with a more positive outlook as well. :) If you need help with the descriptions of stuff - just let me know! ^_^

I think in time you'll realize what an artist has to go through to live up to the commissioner's expectations. If the commissioner puts themselves in the artist's shoes and thinks, "How long would it take to go into that level of detail," eventually there's a point where it doesn't pay (or the artist doesn't want) to do the job.

Think about your future requests and see if you are making the request too detailed. If it is, don't be angry with yourself and just tone the description down. Another alternative would be to ind an artist that will do everything you want. Just be expected to pay hundreds of dollars for your job.

Last word of wisdom....don't have any expectations. You can't be let down that way. If you don't like the final result after you've been back and forth with the artist getting things right in the preliminary sketch work, don't commission them again.
