So what if you cannot draw, or write, or express yourself the way you truly want to?

You obviously LOVE this fandom, and it obviously makes you very happy to be a part of it. If you really want to participate more, start writing more journals, and stories, and start practicing more drawing and art. You can do anything you want to. ^^ Don't just leave because you feel you don't participate.

Yeah, I'm the same way, I've got very limited writing skill and don't post much, but even still, I stay, support others through criticism or even just faving a bunch of art. ^_^

The problem is that I cannot do well on these things at all.

Again, that's not a big deal. Continue to fave art, stories, (even mine if you like, heehee), write witty or insightful journals, share pictures, whatever you can do. Contribute to the fandom in your own way, the way that makes you happy.^^

As more artists participate in Patreon, I have fewer chances.

I wish you'd listen to the advice I'm trying to give. You'd see a lot of people would agree. *^^*

I don't think you have to leave just because you don't have money. Doesn't mean you have to quit the fandom, there are lots of people here on FA who are just watchers and fave art and that's it. Their galleries totally empty. You can enjoy the art that is on FA and look at it. Which you can to for free.

Annnd? I mean, I have met some good people over the years who haven't drawn darn thing and they feel like they are a part of the fandom. It's all about having the friends, making them, having a connection with one and the other. Not having the best artwork, or being really rich. _{Most of those people just end up being selfish or start acting like the center of the world.} but that's my view though, Meo~

I don't draw and I don't write anymore. What matters is not how good you are at drawing or writing nor the money you have. What matters is who you are and enjoying what you do. Even if it's just watching. After all, art is useless if no one looks at it

Ya know, being a furry doesn't mean buying yourself art just to get noticed. I mean sure, some people do it just for the art, but others are here cause of the amazing community and people you can meet and interact with.
I'm not saying this fandom is perfect, no fandom is and I'd be lying if I say I never had problems with certain furries, but so many others did too. And I am very much aware that, the expensive and NSFW art you get, more people will be watching you.
Then again, you can try socializing while putting the art on hold for a while. If you're gonna have trouble in your private life for losing 100-200$ on a picture, don't buy it.
It's hard not to be jealous at times especially at people who commission people every week, but maybe you should focus on your life first and then if have any extra savings, buy yourself some art that'll male you happy.

You don't have to listen to my advice, but it's maybe something that might help you in the future.

Getting only one drawing each year is too few. I feel so uncomfortable that some people spend much money that the artworks are not that impressive.

Just becuese you don't draw or commission doesn't mean you can't be part of the fandom

True that's one of the main draws of the fandom but the fandom is all about socializing and being, making friends, and just relaxing with the thought of being something your not normally in the "real" world

The society of furry fandom is based on artists.

*hugs* I very rarely draw now, but I still have friends that I have connect with through here, and that's why I'm still here. I'm sure you'vemade friends as well, and those friends will support you now matter what, art or not.

There are a lot of people who don't draw in the fandom; there are those who draw, those who write, etc- all to varying degrees of skill, and there are those who watch. There's nothing that says you have to draw to be in the fandom.

But those people who don’t draw never get much attention.
