At the Maranatha Country Fair I met the cutest little girl! She was about 3 or 4 years old and was dressed up like Snow White. We met in line for the super slide, which I may add was a long line. She started talking to me and I talked to her and soon she was holding my hand, smiling, and hugging me. After a series of hugs and laughs we finally made it to the front of the line and we got to slide down together. That little girl made my night and quite easily the best moment I've had fursuiting.
I have a mascoting story: when a explorer of mine wore the dare lion costume, a little girl came up to us and made a big deal how Daren was not real, keep in mind that this was at a kids festival so I had to keep my cool. I camly told her that there is more than one Daren the lion. The next day it was my turn to put on the costume, and I had it on for 2hrs. That whole time I was trying to get back to the booth, and every body wanted pictures and my handlers where not doing s***. Moral of this story is do not fur suit/ mascott alone.
made a womans birthday special cause I danced with her in suit at a bar, she had no one to spend her special day with and our local meet is usually at that bar
One of my most precious moments was at last years Relay for Life, during the kids walk. I had a little girl come up to me and grasp Eddies paw, and wanted to walk around the track holding my paw. We did, twice!!
Eddie Bear is a total natural with the young 'uns, and they always want to take him home..
On the opposite extreme was the first time Dan D Lion made his appearance at FWA 2013. The hotel lobby/bar area was full of executives with their escorts of the evening. Mini skirts, high heels, a lot younger than their clients, you know.. Yeah, the ladies just had to have their photo taken with the classy lion, and it sure seemed like they would rather spend their time with me!!
Making kids happy through the magic of fursuiting is one of the biggest reason I joined the fandom, so your first story is just awesome. I wish I could go to FWA this year... :(
