Don't you sometimes look at your at and think, "I can do better..." or when you look at your old art and it's still really great and good looking and compare it to your current style, I just think, "why didn't I stick to this style? Why does my art have to be so inconsistent??"
But then again, inconsistency should be a good thing, it means you can flip from one style to the next and it leaves so much room for improvement, and you're confident when you experiment with something different. The down side is that it's SO frustrating, especially when I'm being commissioned. I want my commissioners to be happy and give them something they're expecting. I don't know why I'm even writing this journal but this has been bothering me recently and... I'd feel better if I just let it all out. And maybe some people will relate? I don't know. Feel kind of alone in this.
Okay! End vent I'm gonna go draw now

I for one love your style, and part of is that is I can tell you have a very fluid approach to each design. I could tell that from when you first started your account on FA and only had a couple pieces and your icon.
Take for example the sergal (Ryaht) profile piece and the cute succubus pinup (which I'm glad to see you added to your gallery!). The composition and emphasis on lines on each is drastically different from the other, and that's what makes it good. You're projecting a tone and design sense to each that is what you feel is appropriate, and it comes through clear as day that you care about each piece of work.
An artist should always feel they have carte blanche to portray the piece as the tone dictates to THEM. You're the one behind the pencil and who must deal with the shading. If people wanted something that was 1:1 in what they personally envision, then they can draw it themselves or improve their own abilities to reach a point where they can do that.
Anyway, I am supremely satisfied with the pieces you've delivered to me and I absolutely want to continue to give you work so long as you want to do them and my finances are decent (hit or miss there, but c'est la vie). You're easily one of my favorite new artists on the site.

Long story short, I'll happily ask for commissions from an artists that plays around with styles than someone who can draw near-identical character lineart free-hand in 20 minutes or less.
