New Original Species

Hello my little strawberries~
I've had a new original species in mind to create for awhile, I already have the name for them planned out as well and how their basic design will work.
I plan on introducing them soon, but my only question about them is...should I make them a closed or open species?
I already have one closed species, my Furutsunomimis. Having another wouldn't be bad either, but I kinda wanna give you guys a chance to make something from what I've created.
Plus I'd love to see what you guys would design if I let you run with the idea. >w<
Let me know what you guys think. I'm partial to either idea.
